Gold founded
TeleSpan in 1981 as a publishing and consulting company in the area of
teleconferencing. Since that time, he has had consulting contracts with
over 50 providers of teleconferencing equipment and services, including
several investment bankers and venture capitalists. His clients come from
the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Sweden. He is
quoted frequently in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today,
BusinessWeek, and dozens of other business and trade publications. His
assessment of the teleconferencing market has been published in a half-dozen
languages on every continent in the world.
He has published
TeleSpan, a newsletter on teleconferencing, since 1981 and has jointly
authored a half-dozen books on the subject of teleconferencing.
Prior to
founding TeleSpan, he was a Member of the Technical Staff of the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory in Pasadena, California, where he worked for 15 years in a
series of positions in information systems and systems analysis.
